Baden’s Bench

Friends, neighbors and his Odyssey school community came together to place a bench in his honor between the two baseball fields at Rotary Park (located on Weaver Road between High School Road and Wyatt Way.)

The placard reads:

If you pause at this bench to watch infield dust, or listen to clouds silently pass, spare a moment to think that this place was special to Baden, and he was special to us.

Biddle Memorial Sports Facility

While on the Little League Board, Troy lobbied hard to make the batting cages at Rotary Park a reality. In honor of his hard work and dedication to youth sports, the community honored Troy and Baden by installing the Biddle Memorial Sports Facility in 2019. In addition to naming the batting cages in their memory, the facility is lined with memorialized pavers and the entrance is met with a bronzed cast of Troy and Baden’s baseball gloves and likenesses. It is a moving tribute that honors their memories.

The ceremony was held on BI Little League championship weekend in early June 2019. The sun was shining and the fields were packed with kids, parents, friends and family – all celebrating a collective love of baseball and especially Troy and Baden’s love of sport. The end of the tribute was marked by a fly over of two WWII fighter planes.
